Guild Wars 2 Riches Introduction

Dear Guild Wars 2 Fans,

I have been debating for a long time whether or not to start a Guild Wars 2 blog pertaining to making gold or not.  Clearly I have decided to do it since you are here at Guild Wars Gold Guide.  One of my favorite things to do in MMO's is dominate the markets and rake in piles of gold.  With this site I, as well as a few others, will help you all get the gold you need to have the most fun that you can playing Guild Wars 2 while expending the least amount of effort possible.  Many other sites and guides will just tell you to go farm X mobs for 6 hours to get some valuable item.  This strategy works, but it is also boring beyond all belief.  I prefer to go about things in a much more interesting and enjoyable way.  If you are playing a game and know what you are looking for the gold will come naturally.  When wealth comes naturally it make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

So what is the point of having an excessive amount of gold?

This question is always the follow up that I get when I tell people I enjoy playing the economies in MMO's.  It really isn't a difficult answer.  Having a large amount of gold in and MMO is really no different than having a pile of money in real life.  With it you can do many things that other's can't; however, without it you will find things to be a both harder and much more time consuming.  Then you have the age old saying that "Money can't buy you happiness."  This too is true.  If you aren't happy playing the game then having gold isn't going to make you enjoy the game any more.  Realistically playing Guild Wars 2 should be your main focus.  Have fun.  Play the game for what it was designed for.  If you enjoy the game enough making gold is just a cool byproduct of that.

How much time do I have to invest in the game to become wealthy?

That is largely different for every person.  Some people will quickly discover simple tasks that make them incredible amount of gold while others will have to struggle a bit before they fall into their groove and start pulling in gold.  In the coming weeks we are going to outline many Day-1 strategies that you are going to want to follow to get you on your feet.  After that we will begin analyzing the different markets and try to find out what is going to be the most profitable for you.

Right now I didn't even want to put up any part of the guide.  That is why you see this site as more of a blog right now than anything.  When I decided to do this site I told myself I was going to do it right.  I am going to create guide that is based off of what we have seen first hand.  Not off of some prospective notes from the latest beta build like some guide authors will do.  I wanted to do it this way because it is much more genuine and I truly want to help people make gold and not just gain followers and fame.

As of right now there is no release date for the guide.  It is currently being developed that much we can confirm, but I just don't want to put out something that is sub-par and useless like the greater majority of the guides you see for games these days.  I will make it my mission to keep you all updated about our progress as much as possible.

So what is this site going to be used for?

Even with a gold guide I will also be posting here as often as I can giving you guys even more tips, tricks and strategies for making gold in Guild Wars 2.  Some of the most simplistic strategies are better suited for a format like a blog where I can create videos and even audio files for you all to listen to.  That's right!  In addition to blog posts I will also be doing videos and even podcasts.  I have found that podcasts are a wonderful resource for people who are on the go.

The goal is to make this site as accessible as possible for all of you.  We will continue to work on the site from now until the launch of Guild Wars and even beyond to achieve that goal.

So for now I hope that you enjoy the site, it looks a bit rough at this point, but it will be up and running within a few days mark my words.  Thank you for reading and I hope that you enjoy the site and guide.

Sincerely,

Adam
